Sports Camps

 
Entering 1st - 7th Grades
8 weekly sessions: 9am - 4pm M-F
Early Care: 7-9am | Late Care: 4-6pm

Sports Camp is for campers who enjoy playing sports and being active. Each week has a sports theme. Our staff work with campers to emphasize sportsmanship and teamwork. Sports Camp includes games, archery, sports skill sessions, swimming and special events. Sports Camp also includes:

  • Participation in group tennis sessions led by The J tennis professional, Todd Perkins.
  • Group swim lessons with Red Cross Certified Swim Instructors. Generally, 1st and 2nd graders have lessons four times weekly and 3rd and 4th graders have lessons two times weekly. More info available here >
  • Games, such as Ga Ga, Wall Ball and other fun camp activities.

Each week will include a variety of sports activities with a focus on one specific sport. Some weeks will include a field trip, and some weeks will include an Undernight.

Week 1 (June 4-8): Soccer (Coed) - includes a field trip
Week 2 (June 11-15): Baseball/Girls Softball – includes an Undernight
Week 3 (June 18-22): Basketball (Coed)  – includes a field trip
Week 4 (June 25-29): Flag Football and Girls Softball– includes a field trip
Week 5 (July 2-6): July Jamboree week – special daily activities or field trips
Week 6 (July 9-13): Soccer (Coed)  – includes a field trip
Week 7 (July 16-20): Basketball (Coed) – includes an Undernight
Week 8 (July 23-27): Baseball/Girls Softball  – includes a field trip
Week 9 (July 30-Aug 3): Sports Extravaganza (Coed) - includes a field trip

What is a J Camp Undernight?

A special activity at J Camp where campers can choose to stay at Camp on select Wednesday nights from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Campers will participate in special games and activities, a cook-out, an extra swim, and a campfire with songs, sports trivia and s’mores.

A Day in the Life of a Sports Camper!

Every group is different, but here’s a great sampling of what YOUR camper could be doing each day!

9:00 Morning Warm-Ups
9:15 Swim Lessons (1st & 2nd Grade 4 times weekly; 3rd & 4th Grade 2 times weekly)
10:00 Sport of the Week – Drills and Skills sessions
11:30 Lunch
12:00 Electives: Archery, Tennis, games and more.
1:00 All-Camp Games or Tournaments
2:15 Free Swim
3:45 Get ready to go home

Cost per week:

Full Time: $375 | $248 with Member Discount
M/W/F: $265 | $174 with Member Discount
Early & Late Care: $16 each per day | $8 each per day with Member Discount

Next Level Advanced Sports Camps at The J

Entering 3rd – 7th Grades | 20 camper maximum
6 Weekly Sessions: 9 am - 4 pm 
Early Care: 7-9am | Late Care: 4-6pm

Enrollment limited to 20 J Campers per session. Enroll early to save your place!

Take your game to the Next Level with a week of both sport specific training and core athletic training all under the direction of knowledgeable coaches dedicated to helping young athletes.  Athletes will be divided by age/skill level as appropriate.  In the afternoon, Next Level Sports Campers will join Sports Camp for swimming and sports activities.

Week 1 (June 4-8): Next Level Soccer (Coed)
Week 2 (June 11-15): Next Level Baseball/Girls Softball
Week 4 (June 25-29): Next Level Football
Week 6 (July 9-13): Next Level Soccer (Coed)
Week 8 (July 23-27): Next Level Baseball/Girls Softball
Week 9 (July 30-Aug 3): Next Level Basketball (Coed)

Cost per week:

Full Time: $428 | $283 with Member Discount
Early & Late Care: $16 each per day | $8 each per day with Member Discount

Half Day option 9 am – Noon also available for 3rd-7th graders. Half day registration found at www.jsportskc.com .
