It is 1941 in Ukraine and the Germans are invading. Three musical child prodigies - Hannah, a talented German girl, and Larissa and Abrasha, two Jewish virtuosos - have to learn to use their musical skill, their undying friendship and all of their courage to survive in the face of a grown-up world gone mad.
