Some programs at The J may require a waiver or release form be completed prior to participation.


Registration prior to participating in any activity is required and space is limited. Please use the class code for activities when registering. The J reserves the right to cancel any class due to insufficient registrations; if this occurs, participants will be notified as soon as possible and class fees will be refunded, less any outstanding balance due to The J.


Membership at The J is not required for all classes. Guest fees are listed by program when applicable.



Please carry your membership card with you while at The J.
Membership card is required for entry to Fitness + Sports + Aquatics and many other entry points.
For security and to keep us safe, while it is polite, please do not hold the door open for others. It is required that all Members scan for entry.
Membership is not transferable, and non-refundable


Members of other J's visiting from out of town are welcome! Just show us your membership card. Out of town J Visitors can utilize our facility for up to 14 days.

Each guest is limited to 7 visits per year.
$5 per child 15 years and under | $10 per person 16 years and older

Members may purchase weekly and monthly passes
Available for out-of-town guests of J Members, they are limited to three separate purchases for a maximum of 30 days per year.

If you or your child need special accommodations, please call the program facilitator so we can make your experience at The J the best it can be.



The J meets or exceeds required accommodations for persons with disabilities. Elevators are available and restrooms are equipped for individuals with special needs. Ramps are available for easy access to the building. A pool lift is available in the indoor pool. An automatic door operates at the front entrance, theatre entrance, and Fitness + Sports + Aquatics entrances.
Handicap parking spaces are available on the north side of the front entrance, the theatre entrance, and south of the tennis courts.



J Gift Cards are available for purchase at the Member Experience Desk or Reception Desk.

Your membership to The J gives you the following  benefits:

  • Fitness Facility: includes 100+ FREE Group Exercise classes, cardio and strength training equipment, indoor + outdoor pools, indoor track, spa-quality locker rooms including sauna, and much more!
  • Discounted Children's Programs: including camps, sports leagues, dance and music classes, After-School programs, Vacation Days, and our nationally accredited Child Development Center (CDC).
  • Cultural Arts: including the annual Jewish Film Festival, various theatre productions, Jewish Arts Festival, and a variety of other performances and events throughout the year

What makes The J's fitness facility different?
Our Fitness & Sports Department has designed its programs around helping our Members improve their health, not only through exercise but with education and assessments which will provide the tools needed to live a healthier lifestyle. We offer more than 60 FREE Group Exercise classes a week, including yoga, cycling, Les Mills workouts, and more, plus Masters Swimming! There are classes for every fitness level. Plus, we offer a variety of adult and youth sports and special events.
Our goal is to ensure that our Members benefit from the knowledge our trained staff has to offer. Our ACSM-certified exercise specialists are here to help you!

Fitness + Sports + Aquatics Information.

Our youth programs focus on the development of your children through education, team building, and fun! The J's Child Development Center (CDC) is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). Our Summer Camps are designed to include activities that campers most enjoy...sports, outdoor games, recreational and instructional swimming, arts and crafts, music, and more. We also offer year-round programs including dance classes, Vacation Days, youth training and agility, swimming lessons, birthday parties, After-School programs, Saturday Night Out, Rec Leagues, and more.

What else do you offer at The J?
The J offers many programs available to Members and guests. Our Cultural Arts Department presents a Jewish Film Festival in the Spring, Broadway-style theatre productions throughout the year, a Jewish Arts Festival, concerts, and many other events varying year to year. We also offer outstanding dance and music programs through Encore!
Our Heritage Center has become a place for Senior adults (65+) to come together with programs including health and fitness, art, drama, and more!
We provide a vast array of opportunities to enhance personal growth, family development, and strong community.


What type of payment options are available?
You may authorize a checking account withdrawal or credit card or debit card charge of equal installments monthly, bi-monthly, or quarterly commencing on your join date or in the month of your renewal.


Do you have financial assistance available?
The J will not deny anyone membership because of inability to pay the established dues. All requests for fee adjustments are considered on an individual basis, with complete confidentiality. What types of memberships are available?
We have a membership plan for everyone. The J's Membership department has options including plans for single parents, families, full-time college students, seniors, individuals, and couples. For more information, call (913) 327-8010.


How do I sign up for a tour?

Do you have a gift shop at The J?
The J does not have a gift shop. However, we offer gift cards to The J, as well as a variety of seasonal Gallery showings. Some products and merchandise are available for purchase at the Member Experience Desk in Fitness + Sports + Aquatics.


Are you a synagogue?
The J is a pluralistic Jewish Community Center that serves the needs of the entire greater Kansas City community. We are open to people of all faiths and backgrounds. As a community center, we offer a full-service fitness facility, excellent youth programs, cultural arts events for all ages, adult Jewish learning programs, senior adult activities, and much more.


How many guests can I bring?
Members of The J may bring as many guests as they would like. Members may purchase daily guest passes - $5 per child 15 and under and $10 per person 16 and older - at the Member Experience Desk or the Front Desk. Each guest is limited to 5 visits per year.
Do you have out-of-town guests interested in using our facility while they are visiting? Members may purchase weekly and monthly passes at the Front Desk for out-of-town friends and family. Members are limited to 3 separate purchases for a maximum of 30 days per year. Call (913) 327-8000 for rates. Unaccompanied visitors and those who have exceeded the visit limit may purchase daily passes for $20.
