About The Show
Director: Tim Bair
Music Director: Marsha Canaday
Choreographer: Kacy Christensen
It is the city of Berlin in 1931, a time when political unrest racks the country, the economy has been destroyed, and millions of unemployed roam the streets. But, inside the Kit Kat Club, life is beautiful.
The garish Master of Ceremonies welcomes the audience and assures them they will forget all their troubles at the CABARET. Cliff, a young American writer, arrives in Berlin and is immediately swept into the dream of the Cabaret, aided by a wealthy German politician and Sally Bowles, an English singer. Cliff manages to rent a room from the proprietor of a boarding house, Fräulein Schneider, who is tentatively beginning a romance with Herr Schultz, a mild-mannered fruit seller who happens to be Jewish.
With the Emcee’s bawdy songs as wry commentary, we follow the characters through their tumultuous lives as Germany slowly yields to the emerging Third Reich.
Rated R: This show contains adult content including mature and/or sexual themes, use of profanity, and alcohol and drug use, and therefore may not be suitable for children under 17.
