In its 17th year, KC SuperStar is an exhilarating “American Idol” style competition that awards a $15,000 scholarship to the most talented high school singer in the Kansas City area. Students from across the metro audition, with judges selecting 22 semifinalists who vie for the coveted 10 finalist positions. The Top 10 Finalists spend the summer preparing for a high-energy, professionally produced show where the audience, comprised of donors and guests, selects the top winners. Semifinalists and finalists are granted more than $30,000 in combined scholarship money.

Impact On Our CommunityNot only does KC SuperStar provide local teens with an invaluable opportunity, it serves as The Jewish Community Center’s annual fundraiser.
It provides financial assistance to our members so that they can partake in The J’s many services like the Child Development Center, Camp, health and fitness, the arts, as well as meals and transportation for our senior members.
